In just over a year the work achieved in our learning centre has been recognised and rewarded at the LSC Celebration of learning and skills awards 2007, where Live and learn coordinator Kevin Phillips picked up the Trade Union Lifelong Learning Award sponsored by unionlearn.

Kevin said, ' As fantastic as the award is, it was totally unexpected. We still have a long way to go with our project and I don't think we've scratched the surface of what we can go on to achieve in the future. My priority is to ensure the learning agenda is moved to the front of the queue as it benefits everyone - members, individuals and business.'
